Five Suspects Remanded Over Assault on Kade SHTS Teacher Following CREP Intervention

Five suspects have been remanded by the Kade Circuit Court over the violent assault on Mr. Michael Quayson, a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School. Arrested by the Cyber Security Unit, they were remanded on January 7, 2026, and will reappear on January 20. The attack was allegedly in retaliation for the teacher’s firm supervision during the 2025 WASSCE. Following CREP’s intervention, investigations were intensified, leading to the arrests.

CREP Raises Alarm Over a Deepening Education Emergency at Amasaman SHTS

CREP raises alarm over the severe neglect of Amasaman SHTS in Greater Accra. The school lacks desks, safe classrooms, dormitories, assembly and dining halls. Classrooms leak, labs have no electricity, computers are insufficient, and teachers sit under trees. CREP urges GETFund, MoE, GES, the Trobu MP, old students and NGOs to urgently intervene to restore dignity to teaching and learning.
